Refunds, Returns, Consumer Guarantees & Warranty Policy
Bolt Action Furniture
12-Month Warranty
1. Our Voluntary Warranty
Bolt Action Furniture provides a 12-month voluntary warranty covering manufacturing defects and workmanship in furniture supplied by us.
This warranty begins on the date the furniture is delivered to, collected by, or otherwise supplied to the customer.
The warranty is provided in addition to, and does not limit, any rights or remedies available to consumers under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
The expiry of this 12-month warranty does not necessarily mean that a customer has no further rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Consumer guarantees apply independently of this voluntary warranty.
2. What Is Covered
Subject to the terms of this warranty, we will address manufacturing defects or workmanship issues that arise during the 12-month warranty period.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
Defective furniture construction;
Manufacturing defects;
Defective joins or assembly;
Defective finishes caused by manufacturing or application;
Defective drawer runners or other hardware supplied as part of the furniture;
Defective hinges, slides or mechanical components supplied by Bolt Action Furniture;
Defective LED lighting components supplied as part of the furniture;
Defective transformers or power supplies supplied as part of the furniture;
Defective integrated wireless phone charging components supplied as part of the furniture; and
Other manufacturing or workmanship defects attributable to Bolt Action Furniture.
Where a defect is covered by this voluntary warranty, Bolt Action Furniture will assess the issue and, where appropriate, repair, replace or otherwise rectify the affected product or component.
The appropriate remedy will depend on the nature of the issue.
3. Electrical and Electronic Components
Where furniture incorporates LED lighting, transformers, power supplies, wireless charging systems or other electrical/electronic components supplied by Bolt Action Furniture, those components are covered by this voluntary warranty for manufacturing defects during the warranty period.
Electrical components must be used in accordance with the supplied instructions.
Customers must not:
Modify or bypass electrical components;
Alter wiring;
Open or dismantle transformers or power supplies;
Attempt unauthorised electrical repairs;
Replace electrical components with incompatible components; or
Allow unqualified persons to perform electrical work where licensed electrical work is required.
Where electrical installation or connection requires licensed electrical work, the customer must use an appropriately licensed electrician.
If an integrated electrical component appears to be faulty, customers should contact Bolt Action Furniture before attempting repairs or modifications.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits any rights the customer may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
4. Wireless Charging Systems
Where a wireless phone charger is integrated into a Bolt Action Furniture product, the charger is covered by this voluntary warranty against manufacturing defects.
Charging performance may depend on:
The customer's phone model;
Device compatibility;
Phone positioning;
Phone case thickness or material;
Device settings;
Power requirements; and
Other factors outside the control of Bolt Action Furniture.
A wireless charger that does not operate with an incompatible device or is affected by factors unrelated to a product defect may not constitute a warranty defect.
Physical damage, unauthorised modification or misuse may also fall outside this voluntary warranty.
Any applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law remain unaffected.
5. Drawer Runners and Hardware
Drawer runners, hinges, handles, slides and other mechanical hardware supplied with the furniture are covered against manufacturing defects during the warranty period.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
Excessive loading;
Impact;
Misuse;
Forced operation;
Incorrect installation;
Unauthorised modification;
Accidental damage; or
Normal wear and tear.
Where a component fails because of a manufacturing defect, Bolt Action Furniture will assess the issue and provide an appropriate remedy under this warranty, subject to the customer's rights under the ACL.
6. What Is Not Covered by the Voluntary Warranty
This voluntary warranty does not cover damage or deterioration caused solely by:
Misuse or neglect;
Accidental damage;
Incorrect installation by the customer or another person;
Failure to follow supplied installation or care instructions;
Excessive loading or use outside the intended purpose;
Unauthorised modification or alteration;
Unauthorised electrical work or modification;
Physical damage occurring after delivery;
Exposure to unsuitable environmental conditions;
Water or moisture damage caused by the customer's use or environment;
Normal wear and tear;
Damage caused by moving or transporting the furniture after delivery or collection by the customer; or
Natural characteristics or variations of timber and other natural materials that do not constitute a defect.
This exclusion applies to the voluntary warranty only and does not exclude any consumer guarantees or other rights that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
7. Natural Timber Characteristics
Timber is a natural material and may naturally vary in:
Grain;
Colour;
Texture;
Knots;
Figure;
Markings; and
Appearance over time.
Such natural characteristics are not ordinarily considered manufacturing defects.
However, this section does not exclude a genuine defect or a failure to comply with an applicable consumer guarantee.
8. Installation
Most Bolt Action Furniture products are designed for customer installation.
Where the customer installs the furniture themselves, they are responsible for following the supplied installation instructions.
Where installation is arranged and performed by Bolt Action Furniture, the installation service is covered by applicable consumer guarantees and this voluntary warranty where the issue is attributable to our workmanship.
Where installation is performed by an independent contractor arranged by the customer, any issue caused solely by that contractor's workmanship should generally be addressed with that contractor, without affecting any separate defect in the furniture itself.
9. How to Make a Warranty Claim
To make a warranty claim, contact Bolt Action Furniture using the details below.
Please provide:
Customer name;
Order or invoice number;
Date of purchase;
Product name;
Description of the issue;
Photographs or video where relevant; and
Any other reasonable information required to assess the issue.
We may request photographs, measurements or an inspection of the furniture before determining the appropriate remedy.
Where an inspection is reasonably required, we will arrange the next steps with the customer.
10. Warranty Remedies
Where a valid claim is accepted under this voluntary warranty, Bolt Action Furniture may, depending on the circumstances:
Repair the affected furniture;
Replace a defective component;
Replace the affected product;
Rectify the workmanship; or
Provide another appropriate remedy.
The remedy provided under this voluntary warranty does not restrict any remedy the customer may be entitled to under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Consumers are entitled to remedies under the Australian Consumer Law where goods or services fail to meet applicable consumer guarantees.
This 12-month voluntary warranty is an additional benefit provided by Bolt Action Furniture and does not replace or limit those statutory rights.
